4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. On offer are a super, pair [2] of original relics of the 1934 - 1937 school years at Washington and Lee University Lexington, Virginia. The scrapbooks and journals were kept by freshman Ernest Walker Brown Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky. Book 1: There are over 110 pages with over 200 ephemeral items including 103 photographs and 30 postcards. Along with the photos and post cards are dance cards, invitations, programs, newspaper articles, pages filled with hand written diary notes +++. There is an interesting silk Confederate [Rebel] Flag in the front and 2 interesting V.M.I. student photos showing them in their Confederate uniforms marching. There is also a large photo of the Phi Delta Theta House with Mr. Walker standing with other members of the house. Book 2: has nearly 255 pages bulging with all manner of photos, tipped in letters, newsclippings, postcards intimately detail this young man and his life. Super period pieces. BIO NOTE: Ernest Brown Walker was the Grandson of Creel Brown and Great Grandson of J.T.S. Brown both rich and powerful Kentucky Whiskey Distillers. The books are in very good condition..
